Both Keane and Willa are guarded due to their pasts, but they both have different ways of coping with it. Willa is a feisty heroine, one that I could picture being a best friend if she were real. Keane starts out as a bit stubborn, but it is awesome to see him grow emotionally. The banter between these two and their friends is awesome, and I seriously can’t wait to get the next couples story in this group!! Oh! And Pita?? She’s the cherry on top in this book.

This is definitely a must read!!

The Rocker Who Holds Me

What a great start to this series!!! I love getting to meet the guys of Demon’s Wings, and getting the first couple’s book!!

Friend to lover is my favorite trope, and Nik and Ember have it nailed. Their personalities complimented each other, and I loved that Emmie was like most women (a little insecure at times and just needed her man’s reassurance). This book is definitely a must read!!!

The Rocker Who Savors Me

So, I kinda screwed up and read Harris and Lucy’s series before starting this one, so when I found out this book was Layla and Jesse’s, to say I was thrilled is an understatement.

These two have the pages heating up, and leaving you wanting to find a man like Jesse. I love that he has a sensitive side, and how protective he is of his girls. Layla isn’t letting the ghosts from her past affect her present, and she’s the type of heroine you definitely want as a best friend.

Sexy and sweet, with the perfect amount of drama thrown in, this book is definitely a must read!!

The Rocker Who Needs Me

This series keeps getting better and better the more I read!! I love a broody, dark man, and Drake definitely has it nailed. This book was a bit more emotional than the others, with some of the situations being problems people face in the real world. It was nice to see that spin put in to this book. Lana is seriously one of the sweetest heroines I’ve read, and would make most readers protective of her (much like her brother in law is of her) I love seeing the Demon’s family grow, and getting glimpses of possible upcoming couples.

This book is definitely a must read!!

My Review

As a whole, this season was awesome!!!

Each book drew me in, and while there was a ton of drama throughout, the authors did it in a way that kept you coming back for more to see how it would come together. I’m not going to touch on every character (there were a lot) but some of my favorites include Ginny, who made a mistake but is learning to deal with the storm and finding herself along the way. Payton, who finally saw things would never change with her husband and put herself and her children above his wants. Logan, who is trying to recover from his heartbreak in every wrong way possible, sees the light and comes through when he’s needed most. Then there is Joanne, who I sometimes wanted to smack, but since she was trying to shield her children from what was happening, I get it. And finally, Dakota. She’s hard headed, stubborn, a bit of a bitch, and naive when it came to her father. But, she stepped up and made the right decision when it mattered most. Most hated characters?? Surprisingly there were only 3!! Senator Rush, who, despite his mother (most hated #2) and himself trying to control the town of Storm, was finally put in his place by sexy Logan. And my most hated was Hector. If I could have reached through the ereader and strangled him, I would have done it. Luckily, the authors had a special way of dealing with him.

Each of the authors brought something new to the table, and made the books just flow. My favorite episode?? Going to have to go with Quiet Storm. It all just fell together for me there.

I would definitely recommend picking up this seasons episodes of Rising Storm!!

Five minutes later, the valet pulls up with my car. Genevieve raises an eyebrow. “A Bugatti?”

I’m so impressed she can name the model that I practically jizz in my pants. “It’s the best.”

She shakes her head, and I swear I hear her mutter something about rich men and their toys, but I don’t respond, too occupied with inspecting my car and then passing the attendant the cash I promised him earlier for returning my vehicle in perfect condition.

I slide into the driver’s seat, and when I look over at Genevieve as she buckles her seatbelt, a wave of pure, unadulterated lust rolls through me. I’m very aware that I’ve trapped her, that she’s now defenseless to my whims. Not that I’d take advantage, but goddamn, to think that I could…

Glad she can’t know what I’m thinking, I flash her a smile. “So. Where am I taking you?”

“I’m staying at the Park Hyatt on 57^th Street.”

“Fancy.” The Park Hyatt is one of the nicest luxury hotels in New York. That means this girl has money, which isn’t a bad thing. Just, the swell of my wallet in my back pocket is usually one of my better attributes. If wealth doesn’t attract her, I hope I’m not shit out of luck when it comes to getting an invitation up to her room.

Apparently, I’m transparent because she asks, “Not impressed?”

“Quite the opposite. I’m worried you won’t have a reason to be impressed with me.” Now I’m the one who can’t believe how honest I’m being.

“It’s a valid worry,” she says after a beat, and I can’t tell if she’s teasing or being blunt. Can’t tell if I should prepare for gut-wrenching disappointment or dive into another round of sexy banter.

I concentrate on my driving instead, speeding up before slipping expertly into a tight opening in the adjacent lane.

I’ll admit I’m showing off.

“Smashing,” she says with a tone that vibrates through my body like I’m a tuning fork.

Then, abruptly, she laughs, and I turn my head toward her, alarmed at the source of her amusement.

“I still can’t believe you drive a Bugatti in the city. I can’t decide if that makes you brilliant or as mad as a bag of ferrets.”

“Brilliant, of course.” Though, with her so close, I feel more like I’m going crazy. “What can I say? I like things that are fast.”

“Of course you do.”

“You don’t?” I raise a questioning brow. “Maybe you don’t understand how awesome fast can be.” I put my foot on the gas and race down the next block to prove my point.

The traffic light turns red as I approach the intersection, and I ease the brakes. “See? Fast is fun.”

“The problem with fast is it’s over too quickly.”

Is that innuendo? Her gaze pierces into me, and the air around us feels tight and charged, and I’m suddenly certain that I will die if I don’t get to taste her tonight.

Even if she didn’t mean anything more when she made her statement, I certainly do when I say, “Don’t worry. I know when to take my time.”

She exhales, slowly, and I swear I can feel it. As though she’s already in my arms and her breath is grazing every inch of my bare skin. No matter what happens after this, I know she at least feels this…this attraction. Or whatever it is.

Her voice is low and sultry when she replies. “You’re not talking about cars anymore. But do you really take your time? I’d guess you bolt the minute you’re finished.” She’s so blunt, so direct, and I don’t know if it’s a her thing or an English thing, but I like it.

I also like this conversation we’re having. Because we’re drawing the lines, and that means the potential for tonight is high. So I answer with a nod, making sure she understands that she’s correct in thinking I’ll bolt. Because I will.

My Review

I LOVED this read!!!

Boone is such a sexy, sweet hero, and it makes me want to throat punch someone to see what he is going through. Hayden is a bit of a kick ass heroine. I love how the author sort of reversed the roles here. We rarely see books where the hero is being abused, and Susan Stoker pulled this off amazingly. Boone didn’t come off as weak, but as a man with morals too strong to want to defend himself. I loved catching up with previous characters from this series, and getting a glimpse of what’s coming up!!

I would definitely recommend one clicking this book!!!

My Review

I LOVE a good m/m romance, and this book definitely did it for me!!!

The chemistry between Cres and Breck was amazing, even with their history together. Both of them have seen their fair share of tragedies, and it was good to see them overcome it in each other’s arms. The author drew me in with this story, and has me wanting to go find my own rodeo cowboy to have a little fun with ;). I loved how most of the active characters in the book were supportive of these 2, and will have to go back and read some of Lorelei James’s other stories to get to know the other characters I read about.

Staring into the flames, I brooded about my uncertain future. I didn’t trust my ambivalence toward teaching because I was a master at self-sabotage. Maybe I considered this teaching experiment a failure so I had an excuse not to sign on for the next session. Then I could stick with the “I’m a ramblin’ man” warning I’d given Cres and return to the blacktop.
But I didn’t want to go back on the road. Facing miles of empty highway day after day…I knew firsthand it was as lonely as it sounded.
Loneliness hadn’t been an issue since I’d rolled into the Grade A complex. I spent my days surrounded by students and staff and my nights wrapped up in Cres.
Sexy, funny, sweet Cres.
I’d been such a fool to think I could work him out of my system. The more time we spent together the more I wanted. Yet Cres hadn’t mentioned extending our time.
Maybe because you’ve done a bang-up job convincing him of your “itchy feet.”
Only because he’d been so insistent about never getting into another serious relationship, and I didn’t want to be the pathetic hanger-on, trying to convince him that I was worth the risk to his heart, because I wasn’t sure I was.
There was some confidence. I’d gotten my mo-jo back in the arena, but I didn’t have the same certainty with Cres unless I was fucking him.
Why did this have to be so f*cked up? Why couldn’t I just tell him my feelings had changed and I needed more than “just sex?”

J.L. Berg is a new to me author, and I’m so happy I discovered her!!

This book was an awesome read. It had hot steamy scenes, the hero finds healing from a past he hated, and plenty of drama!

I really love Cara. While she didn’t appear come off as a strong heroine during the book, looking back she really was the glue that held everything together. She was willing to give Roman a try, and didn’t fall in to the traps a lot of heroines would.

Roman is such a sexy alpha type hero, who you can’t help but fall in love with, even when you know what he’s done is going to blow up in his face.

This story was fantastic, and drew me in from the beginning. The author has a writing style that keeps you sucked in, and withheld just enough to keep us there. And I loved the surprise twist she threw in there!

This book is definitely a must read!!

Looking for a book that sucks you in with a sexy, broody hero and a heroine with a broken past?? This is definitely the book for you!!

The sexual tension between Blake and Graham is hot, and the bickering that goes on between them?? Just adds to it. They were both a bit broken, and still reeling from demons of their past, but watching them overcome the demons added to much to this book. I loved the little bit of suspense that was thrown in there, and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next!!

This is definitely a must read!!!

My Review

I adored everything about this book!!

I love how the author put Aubrey in an overall male dominant profession, and she was a huge success at it, despite what most men thought of it. She was an awesome heroine to read about, and her competitive streak had me cracking up (especially when she was beating Brett at something.)

Brett has this sexy, dirty talking mouth you can’t help but fall a little bit in love with. His past made him a bit jaded, and in typical male fashion he almost screws it up.

They had their ups and downs throughout the book, and there are a few secondary characters I would love to see get hit by a truck. This book had the perfect amount of steam, swoon, and drama in it to keep me drawn in from the beginning.

I would definitely recommend one clicking this read!!
